If you (as I am) are looking for changes in the approach to this season the move to an earlier practice day model doesn’t seem very significant. Maybe a series of very little changes like this will result in better on field performance, but I’m not so sure. It would have been more encouraging if Riley decided to close a number of the practices if only to send the message that things will be more focused this time around.
Still looking for significant signs that Riley and staff are more serious about making positive changes.

I think it is a smart move moving practices earlier since most of their games will VE played in the early afternoon (at least the early season games).
I like what you said oneonldbeav about closing a few practices. As much as I love going to practices and analyzing with my buddies, a few closed practices. But if they do close practices then I won’t be able to attend and I won’t be able to share my expert analysis, which I’m sure EVERYONE would miss

Earlier practices are to cater to the players. There was a change in class scheduling for a vast majority. Players are going to go to class in the afternoon more now.

I was wondering if OSU would adopt the same drug policy that Oregon is doing this fall.

I heard Oregon was going to get tougher, but OSU has a policy that’s under Oregon law.
And coach Mike Riley has a low tolerance for it. Was was zero for a while, but it’s now very low.

What classes are they taking during August? Are you saying all these players are taking summer school? I find that very unusual that the whole team is enrolled in summer classes…

I’m hoping that voters pass the legalization of marijuana for anyone o er 21. Ill bet we can pull some 5star recruits. Cliff Harris may still have a year of eligibility forif the uckspool if the laws change.

A lot of them take summer classes.
OSU moved its practices to midday for the fall for the players an the classes in the fall term. The schedule is just starting in August.

It is to bad Riley does not have a low tolerance for losing games. I would just one time like to see Riley get fired up and inspire these young men to win the day. Same coaches same system same style same results? I am sorry but there is point where I just cannot get the least bit excited about the football program at OS anymore. Riley has never reached even a Holiday bowl in all the years he has coached at OS. Low tier bowl games are the teams season goal? That is pretty lame.
