Week 2 of spring practice for the Oregon State football team concluded on a glorious day in Reser Stadium.
The Beavers had officials calling penalties on a couple portions of the workout. And there was some tackling.
“That was a good first scrimmage with the number of linemen when have,” coach Mike Riley said. “There were 24 plays. The main thing was to let them finish the plays, defense tackle and blocking all the way through to the end.”
Leading up the scrimmage, it was interesting to see Riley leading the pit drill among the OL and DL. Both sides got after it and showed some intensity.
CB Rashaad Reynolds continues to look good in coverage. WR Richard Mullaney had another good day. His peers have been saying he’s set for a breakout year.
RB Strom Woods did suffer a concussion Thursday and was out of practice. Add CB Malcolm Marable to the list of those with hamstring problems. He was out Saturday.
RB Malcom Agnew (hamstring) started to practice but pulled himself out the scrimmage portion because because tightness.
TE Colby Prince (hamstring) sat out and so did WR Micah Hatfield (concussion). Hatfield missed a full week.
And check Riley in the above video talking about the team. It starts with him in the middle of talking about Philipp.
