Corvallis High OG Isaac Seumalo, who is a four-star Oregon State recruit, is listed at No. 52 in the final Rivals 100 rankings, released Tuesday.
He moved up 44 spots with this update. Rivals Florida analyst Chris Nee was impressed with Seumalo when he was at the Under Armour All-American Game.
Seumalo is also considered the No. 3 OL recruit in the nation.
“Seumalo is everything you want in an offensive guard,” Nee said. “He is a talented blocker who understands when to anchor in or when to move his feet to stay in-front of the oncoming rusher. He is great with his hands in tight spaces and athletic enough to move outside and make a block in space. He performed extremely well during his time at the Under Armour Game.”
In other recruiting news, add DB recruit Cleveland Wallace to who is looking elsewhere due to the departure of DB coach Keith Heyward to Washington.
Where is he looking? He just took a visit to Seattle over the weekend.

Cliff,
I realize this question is off topic, but I just saw that a former Beaver player is signing a large MLB contract and the question I had was, is there any information on the amount former Beaver players donate to the BASF? I realize that every Beaver does not go on to the success of Gary Payton or Steven Jackson, but there is constant press put out by the Athletic Department about all the NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS etc players that are former Beavers. Do these players get all the phone calls and mailings that I do? Do these players donate to the University? Based on the names for the sports venues at OSU (Reser, Valley, Gill, Goss) they are not among the large contibuters.

The NFL guys have helped OSU. I know Steven Jackson has donated big. I think he helped with the players’ lounge.
I bet that Ellsbury might donate big to OSU at some point. There are not many big-money MLB or NBA guys, and MLS doesn’t give out that big of money unless you are from Europe and have a Spice Girl.
But I’m sure, as alumni, they get the same mailings if they have a current address.

What’s happening right now up at UW couldn’t be in greater contrast to what’s happening at OSU. Status quo is good enough at OSU….as usual….. This should speak volumes about why we’re typically just average in our major sports…. Makes me want to just dump my season tickets….

Not to spoil your point, but did you notice that OSU is having one of it’s best recruiting classes ever?……You may want to hang on to those tic’s…………

ESPN seems to think Seumalo will pull from OSU and commit to USC.
Honestly, I couldn’t blame him if he did, regardless if his Dad is on staff at OSU or not.
Beavers football is dying. It’s quickly being surpassed by the rest of the conference, which is reacting to the success of U of O, and retooling and reshaping themselves to be competitive in the new Duck dominated landscape.
But not OSU. We’re fine, according to BDC. No need to look at coaches, schemes or anything else because St. Riley can do no wrong.
This sort of thinking is exactly why the Beavers are quickly falling to the bottom of the PAC. Go ahead, blame the last couple of years on injuries or lack of talent or bad recruiting, but ultimately the buck stops with the coach and his co-workers.
Accountability has gone out the window in Corvallis.
If Seumalo wants to be successful, he will pick a winner. USC vs. OSU, at this particular time? The easy choice is USC. Hands down.

Beaver football is NOT dying. People seem unaware or they forget that OSU was rebuilding last year on both sides of the ball. They will be much better this coming year. The Beavs have talent at all the skill positions, what they desperately need right now are defensive tackles and offensive linemen like Isaac Seumalo to help put the Beavs back into conference title contenders. I’m sure Seumalo will be successful wherever he decides to go, but considering the current state of the Beavs O-line, Seumalo may make an immediate impact for the Beavs.
I agree about the injuries though, seems to have been really bad the last couple of years – the coaches need to take a good look at what is going on there.
Here’s hoping that Isaac chooses the Beavs. Go BEAVS!
