WR Zach Robinson from Sequoyah High in Tahlequah, Okla., verbally committed to the Oregon State football last weekend, according to two news outlets citing his coach Brent Scott.
Robinson is a 6-foot-2, 195-pounder unranked athlete who runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash. He was also recruited by Tulsa, Louisiana-Monroe, Memphis, Missouri State and Mississippi State.
“I’ve always dreamed of getting out of here,” Robinson told the Tahlequah Daily Press. “Getting out of the small town and going out into the big world and making something of my life.”
Teams talked to him about being a WR and DB, but OSU is interested in him adding 15-20 pounds and playing OLB.
“The coaches from Oregon State came down, and I was real comfortable with them,” Robinson said. “I also met with (secondary coach Keith Heyward) and he seemed like a cool, genuine dude.”
Check out his highlights below. The Beavers are at 22 commitments or signed players in this year’s recruiting class.
If Robinson moves to OLB, he’s the third LB in the class with Joel Skotte of Mountain View High and Cade Cowdin from College of the Desert.

im concerned we are using up our last few spots on unrated or low rated guys. we need another splash from JC like the OLB who is high on us…..and/or the 4 star WR.

Or Kenny Mack, the 315 lb JC DT that runs a 4.95 40. Just a hunch but I am sure Mack is a tad more valuable than an unranked WR/LB project.

I don’t see him as a linebacker – especially from his highlights. Maybe a safety , corner or wide out.

Welcome Zach! Glad to have you. You’re going to love OSU and Corvallis.

Watched Video, showed good leaping ability and good hands but slow feet. Might make a Linebacker if he puts on weight. Or possesion Receiver at best. I agree with above, better to use letter for JCDT. We already have slow receivers and enough DB’s already that are probably better.

Wait, maybe this is really Zac Robinson (QB from Ok State) coming back for another go at college football! I hope it’s not another recruit that nobody else wanted that isn’t even on anyone’s radar…is this the best we can do?
And what’s up with Caleb Smith? And Devian Shelton, our 4* recruit? They are both waivering now? And Seumalo too? All these guys were/are solid verbals and Smith and Shelton are now “soft verbals” and all are taking other recruiting visits? Cliff, is this normal or is it something we should be worried about? Why are they taking other visits after committing to us?

Arkansas already has 8 DE’s on their roster and have 4 new commitments. It’s also in Arkansas, and if a kid gets blown away by that – he’s got some other issues.
I don’t expect we will hold on to Shelton – but if we get Lawry, no problem.
As far as Isaac, if we can’t hold on to a coaches kid and kid from Corvallis – we need some new coaches and recruiters.
I hope we get some JC talent if we don’t close on what we have.

We did the same thing with Slade Norris, he came to Oregon State as a 2 star wide receiver. It would be nice if he is productive in two years, however we need production NOW. Hopefully we have a few more JC players on the hook…
