Seattle folks keep sending this to me this press release to alert the Oregon State football fans headed to Saturday’s game. So here it is.
Fans heading to the upcoming matchup between the Washington State Cougars and Oregon State Beavers will run into long delays as they head to Saturday’s game at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
The Washington State Department of Transportation is closing the State Route SR 99 Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle for nine-days starting on Friday. For drivers not familiar with the viaduct, it is located on the waterfront near the stadium and carries nearly 110,000 drivers per day.
Fans headed to the game need to plan ahead and if possible look for alternate forms of transportation such as carpooling or riding the bus.
The closure will allow crews to safely demolish the southern mile of the viaduct and build connections to a new bridge.

Ciff,
Talking as someone who commutes to downtown Seattle everyday, this is going to be a 9-day mess. Out of Towners should plan on allowing extra time to get to the field, and don’t trust your GPS. With all the work in downtown things are changing regularly.
