Oregon State starting LG Josh Andrews returned to practice Monday, but didn’t hit. He’s on the way back from his concussion last week. He’s still expected to play this week in the season opener against Sacramento State.
Starting WR Markus Wheaton (hip) missed his second practice in three days. Coach Mike Riley held him out to make sure he’s healthy for the game. He’s having a hard time running.
Starting DT Dominic Glover was not at practice because he was doing school work. There is no change in his academic eligibility, yet.
WR James Rodgers practiced returning punts for the first time. He did individual drills, but no team returns.
Redshirt freshman walk-on FB Wesley Meng joined the team. He took the roster spot for TE Kellen Clute (knee).
The starting running back will be announced Tuesday when the Beavers do their weekly sound bite press conference for TV and radio. Since there’s going to be an announcement, I’d expect true freshman Malcolm Agnew to get the nod. A true freshman RB has never started the season for OSU.
OLB Rueben Robinson (back) was out for the second day in three days. OLB Cameron Collins (abdominal) was limited again.

Is there any chance of Hardin getting a medical redshirt and coming back for the 2012 season?

No. He needs to miss two full years due to injury. This is his last year no matter what.

I forgot to add, what about Blake Harrah at DE, is he going to be in the rotation like the other JC guys who came in? The DE rotation sound like could have a lot of bodies with Henry, Fifita, Crichton, Fernando, Wynn, and maybe Harrah but really inexperienced. Kind of scary considering how battered and inexperienced the guys at DT are.

Harrah is out long-term with a knee injury. He’s redshirting. That’s why Wynn is not redshirting.
DE is in good shape.

Got an email today saying “only a few tickets remaining” for the game this weekend. Seriously, is this game really down to just a few seats? Wow, now I might have engage myself and plan ahead if I can expect traffic, etc. Or is this just a smokescreen to get some additional tickets purchased.

I’ll get the ticket numbers tomorrow. But I doubt it’s close to a sellout.

Students gone, Labor Day weekend, great weather and Div 2 no name opponent. The place will be nowhere near a sellout. I would say maybe 35,000 but even that may be a little optimistic.

That’s what I would think, but they did send out an email saying “Only a Few Tickets Remaining” to a guy with season tickets!

These injuries are getting ridicuous! Could we have a recap? James: I’ve heard he is supposed to have a thourough physical. Has that happened? Will he ever be back? Halahuni: same question. Kevin Frahm: I thought I heard he’d only miss one game. Now it is at least two?! Hardin: doesn’t sound like he’ll be back? Collins: he’s been limited through all of camp. When will he be full strength? Robinson: what kind of back problem? Backs take forever to heal. Looks rough at OLB. Mitchell: Is he still having problems? Wheaton: is it a hip pointer? How long do they take to heal? That’s all we need now- our top three receivers out! Then I’m curious about Darryl Jackson and Fred Thompson. They had surgeries? For what injuries. They have been out all of camp. So how did they get injured? Same question for Blake Harrah? Any team in the PAC-12 with this bad an injury situation. Next the non-medical issues. Castro: What game is he suspended for? Hamlett: same question. Glover: As a previous commenter asked, what is taking so long for a decision on his eligibility? What’s his problem? Or is this one of those issues that require confidentiality? I guess we may not have any interior defensive line for a couple of games. Did I miss anybody?! As you can tell I am a very frustrated big Beaver fan!!!

All those questions were answered as they came out.
The Glover one must have taken a turn, though.
Generally, people who are injured have to heal. Everyone is different. And this is football. People get hurt.

Didn’t quizz start as a true freshman for the first game of his freshman season?
Cliff Kirkpatrick says:

No, Ryan McCants started the first two games.

Cliff,
It’s getting to the point that I’m scared to read your blog/articles in fear of finding out what other starters are injured. This is becoming comical.
One other thing. The university needs to do some SERIOUS investigating in why it takes SOOOOOOOOOO long to post grades. I’m pretty sure that Glover is not the only person/student whose life is limbo waiting for their grade or credits to get posted to their curriculum. Something needs to be done with the process. It should not take, what is it now, two weeks to grade a final exam and post grades.

if we were playing a real opponent i would guess that only Joe H, JR, and Frahm would miss the game.
there are roughly this amount of injuries in every camp. the difference now is two fold. first-coverage is far greater than it was even 5 years ago. second-the guys we have hurt are either star players or at positions that we are really thin so they seam worse than they are.

What happened to Ryan at running back? Has his production dropped off that much compared to the freshman. After spring it sounded like it was his to lose. Is he that bad?
