The Oregon State football team lost senior starting CB Brandon Hardin indefinitely for shoulder surgery to repair a fractured bone. He hopes to be back for Game 4 on Oct. 1 against Arizona State, but admits that’s optimistic.
Here’s the full story with reaction and looking at what’s ahead that’s on the GT site now.
Sophomore CB Rashaad Reynolds steps into a starting role. Sophomore Sean Martin and junior Keynan Parker are the backups.
Starting senior DT Kevin Frahm has a torn meniscus in his knee and will have surgery. He hopes to back back for the second game of the season Sept. 10 at Wisconsin.
Backup OLB DJ Welch is out two-three weeks with an elbow strain, OG Derek Nielsen is out indefinitely with an ankle injury and RB Storm Woods (ankle) sat out Saturday. All three were hurt in the scrimmage.
RB Terron Ward (knee) had a cortisone shot in his knee that had offseason surgery. He was out.
Backup QB Cody Vaz (back) remains out. Freshman DT Brandon Bennett rolled his ankle in Friday’s practice and was on crutches.

To quote Vince Lombardi, “what the hell is going on out there?”

Wow.. Do we just have really bad luck when it comes to off season injuries, or is there something that we are doing wrong in practice to cause these thing. It seems like we have been getting more than our fair share of banged up players. Perhaps we should be in training camp with a nerf ball or something! lol.

I’ve heard nothing about preferred walk on Kyle Egan. Is he hurt? and what’s his status on the team?

Haven’t heard anything about Naji Patrick. Did he get any carries, or participate in scrimmage?

He moved to CB this week as a way to possible get on the field sooner.
