Oregon State sophomore C Andrew Susac was selected in the Major League Baseball draft Tuesday in the second round by the San Francisco Giants.

They used the 86th overall pick on the 6-foot-1, 200-pounder from Rosevill, Calif. He’s a draft-eligible sophomore being 21 years old. He was the sixth catcher taken.

Susac has played in 38 games for the Beavers this season, starting 37, and is batting .313 with five home runs and 32 RBI, which is tied for second on the team.

He was recently named the all-tournament team for the Corvallis Regional and was All-Pacific-10 Conference honorable mention selection.
