Oregon State football player Castro Masaniai was booked in Benton County jail on charges of second-degree kidnapping, coercion, disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief Saturday, according to a police report. Here’s the full update in Tuesday’s GT with the details.
Coach Mike Riley is out of town, and could not be reached for comment. OSU officials acknowledged the incident and said Masaniai is suspended indefinitely and will let the legal system take its course. No court date has been set.
According to reports the incident happened at the downtown McDonalds restaurant. Masaniai tried to pull someone out of the restaurant.
Masaniai was a projected starter at defensive tackle. He’s a 6-foot-2, 341-pounder from Waipahu, Hawaii.
