Check out my story on former Oregon State DT star Stephen Paea that ran in Tuesday’s GT. He updated me on his training and workouts in preparation for Saturday’s Senior Bowl.
Here’s a story on OSU football players doing track this winter and spring. At least three will compete Saturday at the Husky Invite.
Track coach Kelly Sullivan told me he expects Phase I of the new track facility to break ground in June. We’ll see. These construction deals usually have delays. There are enough funds to create a place to work out, but not compete.
Fundraising is ongoing to finish Phase II, which is the stands and parking lot to make it an event-ready venue.
Former OSU CB Keenan Lewis is a special teams player with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are in the Feb. 6 Super Bowl.
Former LB Nick Barnett is with the other Super Bowl team, Green Bay. However, he’s on injured reserve.
Athletic trainer Ariko Iso, a 1993 grad, has been with Pittsburgh since 2002. She is the only full-time female trainer in the NFL, as of the start of the 2010 season.
Check out this look at college football attendance trends. The Beavers are listed in one category.

They list the population of Corvallis at 79k. I thought it was closer to 50k?

It is around 50k, but that’s with the students.

I used the population of Benton County instead of Corvallis proper. This was to ensure that schools that were in the same county as major cities had those cities included in their “audience” so to speak.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Don’t know that you should include south Benton County… Harrisburg is not a Beaver town.

Beavers have one four star football recruit so far this year. The ducks have eleven four star with speed. I give up.
