Oregon State senior DT Brennan Olander returned to practice Tuesday. He went through individual drills, but no team workouts.

Olander tore a pectoral muscle Nov. 6 against UCLA. Coach Mike Riley doesn’t think he’ll be back this year, but Olander is delaying surgery in the hope he can play again this season.

He’s out for Saturday’s game at Stanford. The Dec. 4 Civil War is a possibility of the bowl game, if there is one, is more likely.

“It could be one game, two games or none,” Olander said. “I just want to try it out. It’s my senior season. We’ll see. Surgery is in my future. When, depends on how it feels.”

Olander may get a look on an pro football team next season. However, he needs to be able to work out for clubs in the spring.

“If it hurts I’ll get it done as soon as I can so I can get that rest and recovery,” Olander said. “If it doesn’t (hurt), I want to win a couple more games with my team. It’s about a four-month rehab process.”
