Junior college DE Rusty Fernando verbally committed to the Oregon State football team, according to Scout.com. He’s a 6-foot-2, 215-pound three-star athlete from Arizona with three years to play two seasons.
Fernando played for Glendale College and attended Apache Junction High. He was all-conference as a freshman with 54 tackles, 10 sacks and an interception.
This is the 14th known verbal commitment for the 2011 class, and fifth defensive end. He’s also the first junior college player.
Check out the silent movie addition of his freshman highlight video. He’s No. 86.

Looks like a good player. Kind of odd we have 5 DE's in this class. Have to wonder if the bigger guys aren't going to be DT's or if the smaller guys don't end up at LB? Too bad coaches can't talk about it yet.

Bennett will be a DT by all accounts.

Rusty Fernando is a great commit for the Beavs! OSU can use a player with his motor and energy, the rest of the defense will feed off of it! I love it!
