WR Richard Mullaney verbally committed to the Oregon State football team Monday, according to Rivals.com.
He’s a 6-foot-3, 185-pound three-star athlete from Thousand Oaks, Calif., and 94th best prospect in the state.
Mullaney picked the Beavers over Washington. This is the 12th commitment for the 2011 class and fourth receiver.

Thanks for the update Cliff!
I like that Richard is tall (6'3 185lbs), that could create some mismatches for defensive backs! I watched his highlight film and he can really go up and catch the ball. He also runs very well, even returned some kicks.
According to Scout.com he is a 3 star athlete and draws comparisons to Mike Hass! He liked OSU's "Family Atmosphere" and the Coaching staff.
As a 2009 junior at Thousand Oaks (Calif.), had 80 catches for 1,000 yards and eight TD's. Was named First team all-Ventura County, First Team All-CIF and MVP and All-State Junior Team. 3.5 GPA too!!!
He is a great addition to the 2011 class! Go Beavs!

This is an interesting contrast this with your article on the offensive line, and its predominance of walk-on players. Why is it OSU cannot consistently recruit *** lineman? I know the rating system has its problems, but every year I read about Cavanaugh being one of the best offensive line coaches in the nation. One would think recruits would be attracted to that. OSU can recruit skill players consistently, and OSU's fans like the ratings when OSU gets them. What is the challenge in getting the offensive lineman – just a numbers game?
This is not to disparage walk-ons – as individuals, they are high achievers and should be commended. But for the program, it indicates a consistent inability to recruit.
