Oregon State football coach Mike Riley goes over the third day of training camp in the above video. It was the first day in shoulder pads. He address the practice-ending 2-minute drill, safeties and the team’s conditioning.

About the 2-minute drill, the offense looked impressive. QBs Ryan Katz, Cody Vaz and Jack Lomax led scoring drives. They competed most of their passes.

WRs Geno Munoz, Kevan Walker and Aaron Nichols made big plays, while Micah Hatfield and James Rodgers were steady.

Lomax hit Walker on a 50-yard TD strike. S Suaesi Tuimaunei made a good read on a pick of Vaz.

Also of note throughout the day was the aggressive running of RB Ryan McCants. He picked up where he left off in spring practice.

JC transfer DE Dominic Glover limped around the first two days, but had more spring in his step the third day. The reason was he had bad fitting shoes. Once they were changed, he felt great.

WR Markus Wheaton (bruised shoulder) was in a limited role for the second day. He did drills early and was held out of the interaction with the defense.

OT Michael Philipp (broken nose) ran on the side. He’s still expected back Saturday. That’s him running with OL Rory Ross (knee) behind him.
