I’ll be on vacation for an extended time so the blog posts won’t be regular if at all for some time. However, follow me at twitter.com/cliffgt. That will be going regularly and heavily throughout the season.
I need to recharge for another year of covering Oregon State athletics. In reality, working is less stressful than vacation and I’ll welcome my return to recover from my time off.
A blog poster on the previous post asked if I think a slew of commitments are on the way since every time I step away it happens. It might, but this is usually a quiet time of year for that. Fingers are crossed.
Here are a few notes and links to leave you with, for now.
CB Jordan Poyer returned to football full-time and left the Knights. He played part-time with the summer wood-bat collegiate team this summer between lifting and summer school.
Assistant gymanstics coach Michael Chaplin told me his wife, head coach Tanya Chaplin, signed a five-year extension.
Former OSU OL Andy Levitre has been working out with the Beavers in preparation for the NFL season.
Here’s a link to the new March Madness format. I’m of the feeling that a bigger tournament waters it down, and kills the accomplishment.
Giving teams something to strive for such as a CBI is a good thing, but this is a bit much. Will teams turn down slot No. 68 for a better chance at winning in the CBI or CIT?
There’s still room in the baseball camps for all ages. Check them out here.
The fifth annual OSU Football Workshop for Women will be Aug. 28. Sign up here.

Have a good vacation, Cliff. Just stay out of trouble if you go back home to San Diego.
