The Oregon State football team picked up two verbal commitments Thursday, according to Rivals.com, and both are from North Carolina.
They are CB Jeremy Reynolds of Oak Ridge Military Academy and WR Chris Lampkins from Sanderson High, both unranked athletes. Lampkins plans to transfer to Oak Ridge Military Academy this season.
Here’s my story on them in Saturday’s GT. It has an interview with their coach.
Reynolds is a 5-foot-9, 163-pounder who had offers from East Carolina, North Carolina State, California and New Mexico State. He plans to graduate early and be in Corvallis by the winter term in January.
Lampkins is a 6-2, 172-pounder who moved on his first offer. He was impressed with OSU’s camp he attended last weekend.
This gives the Beavers four commitments for the 2011 class. The other two are OL Connor Thomas and WR Tyrequek Zimmerman.

I love the nationwide approach. Hope they stick.

i was thinking the same exact thing, tradernum.
it's important to look elsewhere now that Utah and Co will spread the conference thin. And it's important to keep these players, as poachers will be out for Reynolds and the Oklahoma kid.
