WR Tyrequek Zimmerman became the second verbal commitment for the Oregon State football team Tuesday night.

He’s a 6-foot, 186-pounder from Lawton, Okla. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and is rated a three-star athlete. He’s ranked the No. 9 prospect in Oklahoma.

Zimmerman caught 43 passes for 779 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He also ran for 127 yards on 10 attempts. Zimmerman was a safety on defense.

There were nine other offers with South Carolina a top option. However, he’s a solid commit.

Read more about him on the GT site here. I spoke with him and his coach Randy Breeze on Wednesday morning. He sounds like an impressive athlete.

A funny story Breeze told me was that South Carolina thought he was going to commit to Gamecocks as soon as the recruiting coach offered in person. He even told Zimmerman, “watch this, I’m leaving here with a commitment.” And of course, Zimmerman picked the Beavers.
