The Oregon State athletic department put in their RFPs (request for proposal) to get the construction bids in order for the basketball practice and track facilities.
However, Beavers officials stress that this doesn’t mean construction is close.
Fundraising isn’t complete. The RFP is a future step that is being taken care of now so when the fundraising is ready, construction can begin quicker.

Does this mean they already have plans? Also I am all for mens track (not a fan myself, but the more options the better) making a comeback but weren't they just talking about cutting sports. Seems to me we should still be tightening the belt. Then again I have never looked inside the books.

Plans have been ready for a while. Track specifically, I've posted a video of the artistic rendition. The Beavers know what they want in the basketball facility.
The building is going to be from fundraising. So it's not taking anything out the budget.
OSU never planned/wanted to cut sports. That was just De Carolis saying it could happen if funds/tickets weren't raised.

Did Al leave any endowment for these projects?

I heard there were talks that Reser would help out with the practice facility if needed. But, now it's too late.
