We’ll start off with some quick news items and build the blog from there. And check out the beginning of coach Mike Riley’s press conference above. More will be added later.
DT Happy Iona did not register with the NCAA clearing house so was not able to sign a letter. He plans to play at a junior college.
Riley confirmed that K Trevor Romaine, DB Will Storey and TE Connor Hamlett will greyshirt.
He’s not sure about DL Mana Tuivailala, yet. Tuivailala has some academics to work through. If can he makes up some classes he’ll join the team in the fall.
OSU is one over the limit with Tuivailala. However, there are other greyshirt possibilities to make room. And it depends on attrition of the current roster.
Saddleback College DE Dominic Glover will join the team in the team in May. The rest will go through the Bridge Program in July.
DT Thomas Molesi will join the Beavers in July and not go on a Mormon mission, Riley said.
There’s one more player OSU is recruiting. Riley said that will play out in the next two weeks.
Other than Glover there isn’t a player who is expected to play their first year.
Riley said the small class made it difficult to recruit. He had not offer too many scholarships early. “It wasn’t less work with fewer guys,” Riley said. “we still had to do the letters, phone calls and home visits.”

LB from Cali, waiting to visit to this weekend, though USC likely has inside track – but we get the bottom of the 9th.. to confuse with a baseball analogy.

i think this has the potential to be a very good class. Too bad Happy Iona didnt make it. He was very solid. Hopefully he will come back our way after his stay at JC.

I know some were speculating Molesi would RS (or play) a year and then go on his mission.
Regardless of if he red shirts or plays, does this mean he'll forgo his mission entirely or just isn't planning on going on one this year (meaning he might still go on a mission after this year)..?
