The Oregon State wrestling team moved up a spot to 21st this week in the NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll.

Colby Covington cracked the top 10 in the Intermat Division I Individual Rankings at No. 9. Covington. He was No. 11 and moved up after defeating previously ranked No. 3 Stephen Dwyer of Nebraska last Sunday in a 2-1 decision at 174 pounds.

Five other Oregon State wrestlers remain ranked with No. 12 Keegan Davis (157 pounds), No. 14 heavyweight Clayton Jack, No. 15 Jason Lara (125), No. 16 Kelly Kubec (133) and No. 17 RJ Pena (149).

Sunday afternoon’s Pacific-10 Conference showdown between the No. 21 Beavers (15-1, 3-1) and the No. 24 Sun Devils (8-4, 3-0) will go a long way in determining the regular season team race. OSU is 14-17 in the series with Arizona State and has won the last three meetings.

The Beavers are on a 14-dual meeting winning streak, while the Sun Devils have won the last four. All four of ASU’s losses have been to top-20 teams – Oklahoma State , Oklahoma , Ohio State and Wisconsin .

The Sun Devils have three Intermat ranked wrestlers: No. 3 Anthony Robles (125 pounds), No. 13 Chris Drouin (141) and No. 17 heavyweight Eric Nye.

The heavyweight class takes center state again with Jack vs. Nye. Nye beat Jack in a December tournament 3-2.
