IMG_0874LAS VEGAS – The Oregon State football team arrived at the Venetian on Friday night on time and safe. All is going well so far.

The above pic is of the team picking up luggage at the bottom of the hotel. And what a hotel it is. This thing is huge. People will get lost in here.

“Everything went good today,” coach Mike Riley said of the trip. “We had a good workout in shorts this morning (at OSU).”

Trying to find a place to have a beer and blog was difficult. Don’t try to pull out a laptop at the sports book. It’s a crime, and I didn’t know.

I worked from the First Food and Bar. It’s a dark corner of the building. I’ll need a guide to get out of here.

There were 112 players on the trip. Freshman CB Sean Martin was left behind, Riley said. “It’s not a big story,” he said. “It had nothing to do with disciplinary reasons and he’ll be with us in January.”

Read between the lines on that since Riley won’t say what’s up. The fall term just ended.

There were 3,500 tickets sold to OSU fans for the game. There were another 1,200 family and friends comp tickets for friends and family for the coaches and players. The word from OSU is that’s 50 percent better than last year’s Sun Bowl

Players are off until 2 a.m. The first practice here is 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning at UNLV.

Now I’m off to find Lady Gaga. She’s playing here at some point, and I have to give a review for my wife. Check her out after the first 15 seconds. She’s the new Britney Spears for those who don’t know. And for the older guys out there, the new Madonna.

Check out the Saturday story in the GT here. It’s on BYU LB Shawn Doman and OSU’s battling BYU and Utah for Morman players.
