Cliff: Sunday football notes Comments
Let’s start off with the Oregon State football team’s highlight video from the Washington game that was shown to the players before the Washington State game.
The Beavers open up as 8-point underdogs in Thursday’s Civil War in Autzen Stadium. They are the first game listed here.
The Beavers are moving up in the polls. They are No. 13 in AP, No. 16 in the coaches’ and No. 16 in the BCS. The AP ranking is the highest since being No. 10 at the start of the 2001 season.
The fallout over the weekend didn’t help the Beavers. As I pointed out earlier they needed USC and Arizona to lose to help the just-in-case scenario of if the Beavers lose the Civil War.
Now, they just have to win it and go on to the Rose Bowl. If not, they have to wait until Dec. 6 to see where the chips fall as far as which bowl game they’ll attend. It would be wide open for the Holiday, Emerald and Las Vegas to work it out.
And on a side note, the BCS people sent out this press release last week to promote the bowl system. You can check it out here.
