True enough. My dad and I sat through bunch of those from 78-87, but if I had ever uttered those words my dad would've been on me so quick... It's just a classless thing to say, no matter what the situation.

That's too bad about Jim Walden. I sat through plenty of Beaver games where the other team seemed to run the score up. The truth is, back in the day, we stunk! Walden ought to concentrate on that instead.

Here's a good link to the possible bowl scenarios for the conference.

If he said that, that was pretty low-class. I'm sure he was a homer upset about his team's constant losing.

And yes, Ryan Katz' first drive was with the first-string O-line to see what he can do with protection. He led them to a TD. Then it was all backups, and time to run out the clock.

In college football, there's just not that many games where backups get enough work. That's part of the season for the bigger scores in college. Teams don't back off with the backups. Of course there's the talent difference on teams.

The defense played well under the circumstances. There was no running game. The QB was running around a lot so sacks were limited but it wasn't easy to throw, there were good coverage plays. WSU played an inspired game for what it had. And the TD drive was aide by 45 yards of penalties. The first one was questionable.

That's pretty bad. For a second last night I thought it would be nice to see Masoli or L. James go down and be out for the CW, but then I caught myself and figured we should beat their best if we're going to the Granddaddy. Pretty bad that a pro can't do the same. Adults should be able to deal with frustration. Sports, in general, bring out the worst in adults.

You must have had some Palouse fuel. Those defensive grades on your
report card were pretty generous. Giving up 10 points to the cougs is equivalent
of another 65 by the ucks.

Cliff,

After watching the Ducks last night I am feeling a little better about our defense taking Masoli down. Can you confirm at some point if the Beavers will be wearing home colors to the civil war? Congrats to the Beavers on an awesome season. From what I heard about Katz playing I have a feeling we will continue to have that Rose Bowl in our sights.

Wow - that's absolutely disgusting!!!

Riley needed to get Katz some real game action and there's nothing wrong with that. It's like Coach says... it's always about us, never the other team. The Beavers needed to get those guys work and they did it. Same story with WSU getting torqued about Canfield-to-Adeniji in 2008. Sean hadn't thrown a pass in nearly a year.

And just because your team sucks, Mr. Walden, does not mean that the opposition can't get their work in.

Cliff, I wonder if you could get some comments from Jim Walden of the Cougar Radio team. I had to listen to their broadcast up here in WA and he made some pretty disparaging comments about Riley during the 4th quarter. At one point after Katz had made/attempted a few throws and then scrambled on a play, Walden said, "It'd be fitting if he blew out his knee right now." Pretty disgusting lack of professionalism on his part.
