Cliff: Pac-10 rankings, WSU time Comments

Another scramble of the Pacific-10 Conference rankings was expects this week, but not like this.
The football teams keep knocking each other off at the top, and it’s making it interesting to see how it turns out.
Southern California and Arizona losing helped Oregon State’s Rose Bowl hopes. It’s going to come down to the Civil War.
Read my Monday story in the GT for OSU reaction to their situation. Here’s my latest rankings.
1. Oregon: The Ducks return to the top with a dominating win over Arizona State. They have to win out to reach the Rose Bowl, and a trip to Arizona is next followed by the Beavers. That’s not easy.
2. Oregon State: The Beavers are taking care of business late in the year again. A tuneup at Washington State this week keeps them on track and sets up one of the biggest Civil Wars in history.
3. Arizona: Schedule makers created a brutal end of season for the Wildcats. Losing to California was something they couldn’t afford. Now they must beat USC and Arizona State on the road and Oregon at home.
4. Stanford: This team is supposed to be good next year, and all of sudden it can reach the top now that it dominated USC and Oregon. The only Pac-10 game left is at home against California
5. USC: How the mighty have fallen. Seeing the Trojans with three losses is unusual. They are in the spoiler role now. What’s it going to be like to see USC in the Sun Bowl or Emerald Bowl?
6. California: The Bears are playing for postseason position, and really have had a good season with seven wins and two more games to go. Beating Stanford would throw the top teams into more chaos.
7. UCLA: There’s a slim chance for a bowl game. The Bruins have to beat Arizona State and USC, and the Trojans have been vulnerable this season.
8. Arizona State: After a mostly frustrating season the Sun Devils are still in line for a bowl berth, but they need to win the last two, including a home game with Arizona.
9. Washington: There’s no bowl game for first-year coach Steve Sarkisian. It’s on to building for the future. Of course there’s the exciting rivalry game with Washington State left – not.
10: Washington State: The only surprising thing that hasn’t happened in this wild Pac-10 race is the Cougars upsetting a team in contention. Could it happen this week against the Beavers?
UPDATE: Washington State decided to pick a kickoff time for Saturday’s OSU, finally. It’s at 2 p.m. with no TV whatsoever. Yes, it took that long to make the announcement.
