Oregon State football coach Mike Riley said Tuesday that he expects to bring QB Lyle Moevao on the UNLV trip this weekend as the emergency No. 3 quarterback.
Moevao (shoulder) hasn’t done a full practice of throwing, yet, but he could do enough that if the Beavers reached the No. 3 QB in a game he could run the clock out.

Injury update
Backup DT Brennan Olander (knee) should be available, but is considered questionable.
Keynan Parker (shoulder) will be used on special teams this week, and be worked in at cornerback during the season.
WR Darrell Catchings (wrist) is having a final doctor visit today, and get a verdict on him returning next week.
UNLV connections
In my UNLV scouting report in Tuesday’s GT, I mentioned the relationship between Riley, RB coach Reggie Davis and UNLV coach Mike Sanford.
There’s more. OSU defensive coordinator Mark Banker and Sanford are close from both being on the Chargers staff with Riley.
LB coach Greg Newhouse was the LB and kickers coach at UNLV from 1978-79.
UNLV notes
Senior starters DE/LB Jason Beauchamp (ankle) and senior WR Rodelin Anthony (foot) are questionable this week. They are wearing protective boots this week.
The playing surface at Sam Boyd Stadium is artificial. It’s something called TurfTech.
There schemes are described as the shotgun spread on offense and run base 4-3 defense.
Video report
The above video is Riley talking with the media on Tuesday morning. The below video of of OG Gregg Peat talking PSU and UNLV.
In the polls
The Beavers moved up one spot in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll to No. 24. They stay at No. 26 in the AP Poll.
Post-practice update
Riley confirmed that Catchings will be back next Tuesday. He got cleared by the doctors.
Moevao will be the No. 3 QB this week. “The doctor OKed him, so that means he can go out there and play if we need them,” Riley said.

Any way you can get the entire Riley clip on the site? Those were some good thoughts cut short.

This funny. I had requests for that last year, too.
There are a couple of things that go into that.
1. OSU has request/rule (like most places) that video not be shown longer than 3 minutes or so. So, there won't be anything longer.
2. I could edit out the crap into the best 3 minutes, but that would entail two things.
A. I have to figure that out on my comptuer. When I get some down time, I'll tinker.
B. I need to get a memory card that can hold a lot more.
What I'll eventually do is get more cards and swtich them out and have Part 1, 2 and three of an interview.
