CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — A judge dropped alcohol and probation charges against former Virginia quarterback Peter Lalich, who is now with Oregon State.
Lalich was charged in 2008 with drinking alcohol while on probation for underage alcohol possession. Charlottesville General District Court Judge Robert H. Downer dismissed the charges Tuesday because the 21-year-old Lalich completed a required alcohol program in Oregon.
Lalich was dismissed from UVA’s football team after he admitted in court in September that he had violated the terms of his probation. He transferred to Oregon State and joined the football team at the start of the fall term.
Neither Lalich nor his attorney were present at Tuesday’s hearing.

I live here in Virginia, about a 25 min ride from where he played HS ball. This kid is a serious talent. Big time arm and with good accuracy. I hope that he stick around, maybe red-shirt this year and next take over if Katz doesnt take it from him. Hey Cliff have you heard anything about whether or not he may red shirt or transfer, possibly to a I-AA school?

Haven't heard. Since he's still on the roster, he's staying this year. As for redshirting, I think it would be wise for him since there are two senior QBs ahead of him. However, that decision doesn't have to be made until the season.
I think next spring could be interesting with him and Ryan Katz fighting it out for the starting spot.
