Two Oregon State football team recruits have been named to the first USA Football’s Junior National Team, and will play in an international tournament during the summer June 27, July 1 and July 4-5 in Canton, Ohio.

CB Jordan Poyer of Astoria and WR Kevin Cummings from Encino, Calif., are on a 45-man under-19 roster of mostly graduated seniors, who will compete for the junior world championship

The games with teams from Canada, France, German, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand and Sweden will be played in Fawcett Stadium, home of the NFL’s annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game next to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Cummings is a 6-foot-2,180-pounder who is ranked as a three-star athlete by Rivals.com and Scout.com. Poyer is 6-0, 172 pounds. He was Oregon’s Class 4A Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, playing QB and S.

Players selected for the team were nominated by high school and college coaches, but roster selections were picked by the team USA’s coaching staff, led by Chuck Kyle, coach of Cleveland St. Ignatius.
