The Oregon State men’s basketball team was invited and accepted the opportunity to be in the second annual College Basketball Invitational on Saturday.

The Beavers will host a first-round game Tuesday or Wednesday. The opponent will be determined Sunday afternoon. Read Sunday’s GT for more details here.

The Beavers practice Sunday morning and are eager to play in the CBI. They could play up to six games if they play for the title. Practice was very energetic.

Here’s coach Craig Robinson’s response to those who don’t think the Beavers should play in a postseason tournament.

“Why wouldn’t we want to keep playing?” Robinson said. “People have told me we shouldn’t play (with a losing record). I then ask them why not? And they can never give me an answer. Even if we were 0-18 again (in conference) I’d want play another game. That’s why these kids came here, to play games. People who think that just don’t understand.”
