Three-star WR Markus Wheaton from Chandler, Ariz., committed to the Oregon State football team, according to Rivals.com.
He’s a 6-foot-2, 180-pounder with 4.5-second speed in the 40-yard dash. There were offers a dozen schools, including Southern California, UCLA, Oregon and Utah.
Wheaton is ranked No. 66 in the nation among WR recruits, according to Scout.com. He has been honored as one of the top players in his region since his sophomore season. ESPN recruiting says he has goods and skills, but needs to gain strength.
This brings OSU’s known class to 21. Wheaton is the third WR.
Also, word out of OSU is that Danny Langsdorf is not in the running for the offensive coordinator job at Miami.
